Overwhelming

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَٰشِيَةِ

Are you aware of the Overwhelming?

وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ

Faces on that day will be shamed.

عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ

Laboring and exhausted.

تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً

Suffering in a blazing Hellfire.

تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍ

Drinking from a flaming spring.

لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍ

They will have no food except the useless variety.

لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍ

It never nourishes, nor satisfies hunger.

وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ

Other faces on that day will be full of joy.

لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ

Satisfied with their work.

فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ

In an exalted Paradise.

لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةً

In it, no nonsense is heard.

فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ

In it, a spring flows.

فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرْفُوعَةٌ

In it, there are luxurious furnishings.

وَأَكْوَابٌ مَّوْضُوعَةٌ

And drinks made available.

وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ

And pitchers in rows.

وَزَرَابِىُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ

And carpets throughout.

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ

Why do they not reflect on the camels and how they are created?

وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ

And the sky and how it is raised.

وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ

And the mountains and how they are constructed.

وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ

And the earth and how it is built.

فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ

You shall remind, for your mission is to deliver this reminder.

لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ

You have no power over them.

إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ

As for those who turn away and disbelieve.

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّه2686ُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَكْبَرَ

GOD2686 will commit them to the great retribution.

إِنَّ إِلَيْنَآ إِيَابَهُمْ

To us is their ultimate destiny.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُم

Then we will call them to account.
